Posts I've Made

In Topic: In like a lamb or lion?

I'm still here and although i don't post as often as I use to, I'm still reading everything and
post when I feel I have accumulated enough info to have something to write about.

Today, Dew and I spent all day shopping fora new T/M and Exercise Bike. We finally found
what we were looking for at a place called "Play it Again" over in Decatur. I got a brand new
Schwinn Airdyne Bike, just like they had at PR and a new T/M with everything we felt we needed
without some of those extra features we didn't think were necessary for our workouts. So our
new home gym is well on it's way to being all set up. I never though it would be so hard to find
a place that not only sold the Schwinn Bike i wanted but also did delivery and set up. I'm just
like a kid with new toys and I can't wait to be able to use them.

We are tearing down our apartment right now and packing for the move. We've been using
the approach that if it hasn't been used in over a year, do we really need to keep it? Something yes but
most things can be recycled to the Kids, Goodwill or junk it. It's a slow process so we started early.
Once the crew gets here to move us, things will go fast and I will already be set up on o2 at the new house
waiting for them to get there and start unloading. I'm fortunate to have a big family to help.

I made plans to transfer my Internet on the 18th of Apr and plan to take some time off the computer afterwards
until the middle or maybe the end of May, I'm not sure, it just depends on when I get my Internet set
back up and how long it takes us to get settled in the house. But I will be back.

Anyway, I'll be here for a few more weeks and will check in as i can.

It seems like it's been snowing or raining for days around here and I for one will be happy
when it moves on. I see warmer days with a little more sunshine in our forecast so I at
least have something weather wise to look forward to.

Things are coming along with the house, We did come across some mold in the bathroom and had to
take a wall down to studs but it wasn't bad and they were able to get it all cleaned up without too much
trouble. It slowed things down for a couple of days but everything's back on schedule now.

I went to a follow up appointment at the VA about my Neck. The only reason I saw this Dr was so he could
signs off on the next level of treatment. He scheduled the next appointment with Physical Therapy at the end
of the Mar and I guess we'll see were it goes from there. Next step would be steroid shots. The Dr said he didn't
think I need surgery yet. I have to keep reminding these folks that I'm in pain with all this and that it's causing
some major problems for me. The Va is thorough but slowand if I hadn't fought so hard for so long to get these
benefits, I would go through medicare to speed things up but it could get expensive. I guess it all depends on
how long I can take this pain and from my experience, I don't do Pain well.

I try to do a little time on the T/M every day(at least 20 mins or so) or at least get out and walk some every
day. The cold rainy days we've had lately doesn't help but you do what you gotta do.

Take care,

Tim

Hi Darrell, We make cornbread from scratch , we use the recipe on the back of the yellow corn meal box. You know, the
round one. Except, over the last couple of years we have experimented with other(what we consider) healthier ingredients.
We substitute 1/4 cup white flour for whole wheat, we cut the salt, use egg beaters instead of regular eggs and use olive oil
instead reguler oil. I'm not sure how many calories we have cut from the recipe(if any but it makes a nice healthier pan of cornbread.

It's a beautiful day outside, 35* and lots of Sunshine;however, we have another storm front moving into the area tonight and not
due to clear until Tuesday night. Cooler temps afterwards in the mid 30's. But I have noticed that the days are getting longer
with more sunshine so I know Spring is right around the corner.

Dew and I both just finished our morning exercise routines and I'm feeling pretty good this morning. Rebuilding my exercise program
is always a challenge and this time around doesn't seem to be any easier. I firmly believe that this is the time for me to fight as hard
as I can to rebuild some strength and endurance.

We have a little shopping to do today but not until after the o2 delivery guy comes by. You never really know when he will get here
but normally between noon and 3PM. He usually calls to give me a more firm time frame but so far, no call today.

I hope you all have a good day,

Tim
