Well it is another Friday and the last day of the workweek here in Central Florida. Started it off with a full workout at the gym and now suppossed to be working!
Rain forecast throughout the weekend. We are planning to go to a local Winery tomorrow for a craft & Jazz music fair along with wine tasting but it is an outdoor event so we will have to see what the weather brings.
It is an extended weekend for me as I am off Monday for the holiday.

Will head to the gym each day---easy to motivate myself that direction when the weather is bad. Otherwise it may be a reading, crafting and relaxing weekend.

Hope all of you are well!

Ken

Hello!! Sorry I missed V-Day...

I've had a killer sinus infection. Like you Tim - I am so fed up of being sick. I'm amazed it didn't settle on my chest though and stayed in my upper airways! Amazing luck. :)

Hope you're all doing ok. I haven't exercised in ages, I just felt too tired and ill. Think I'm on the mend so back to as much as I can handle...

All I have to do is see a sick person across the street at the moment, and you can bet I will get it. It's driving me crazy. My steroid inhaler seems to be helping a bit with the coughing though so I need to get back to exercising I have no excuse!

I spotted a bit about feeling panicked/anxious - I get that, on bad days I can get really shaky (literally!) before I leave the house... and I'm not even that bad symptom wise really. I think when you linger on the thought that you might not be able to catch your breath it becomes terrifying, because, well, it is a legitimately scary thing to be caught out and about and suddenly you've got no air...

Have a good week everyone! I'm feeling positive about this week! T minus ten days until I see a pulmo for the first time! Also...

Don't tell anyone but the crocuses have flowered - AKA.... it's SPRING!!! :D

Hope you get over your "whatever" quickly, Blueberry. That is such a miserable feeling!

We are now in a new week..let's hope we all get through it with no new spring "bugs" in the air!
We could have a very long spring, since we never quite had a "winter".
We can do this!

Usually "spring" is such a magic word but this year, since we have never arrived at a hard winter, spring doesn't have quite the punch it usually does. Although in Europe some people have had a long and cruel winter. Blueberry whichever way spring is for you, It's good you are back and feeling better.

I'm back in the saddle here with a full workout at the gym and then lunch out with my wife and my SIL. I enjoyed some pad thai and each of us had a different Thai dish. Speaking of Thai cuisine, we haven't heard from Richard in a while. Hey Richard if you are out there lurking, please drop in and say Hi.

Well, our weekend weather turned out to be better than was expected and we had a goodweekend of daily exercise, time with friends, some motorcycling, a craft fair and music festival and overall too much good food and wine.
Back to normal today with a full workout this morning and a full workday planned. Hope all are well and as Darrell said it would be nice to hear from Richard in Thailand where we hope all is well also.

Ken it sounds like you had quite a weekend. Now it's Mardi Gras and next many people will be observing lent. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, I can no longer celebrate Mardi Gras in the same fashion that I used to but I will enjoy the day, have a doughnut or something and then observe the lenten season. I've never been very good at keeping promises of abstention so the bar will be set very low. However I will try to change something that will contribute to a healthier lifestyle.

Good morning all,
Started the day with an aggressive hour and 40 minute workout this morning working out yesterday's frustrations having to do with a mid day computer problem that required multiple phone calls, two hours of time and $100 bucks to fix. I guess the good news was it was a simpler fix than it could have been.

Mind is mostly on Tim & his struggles today sending good thoughts and prayers his way with some thoughts as well for Dee and her Dr appt today to get some relief hopefully from her congestion.

Everyone be careful out there! Avoid the germs as much as possible. Pray for our friends!

It's a perfect day here for a long walk outdoors with temps in the 50s-60s and clear skies. I'm trying to get in as many days like today as I can before the pollen becomes unbearable. I walked for nearly an hour, covered more ground than usual and maintained good heart rate and sats (except for one hill). Again I can already feel muscles that the T/M doesn't work. Reminds me to keep mixing up my workout.

Here's hoping everyone has as good a day as possible with all that's going on.

Another Friday and the end of the work week and less than a week till the end of Feb and the beginning of March!
It has been a bit quiet in the village gym this week with Tim out fighting some issues, Claire apparently still in her boot and various other activities or issues keeping everyone busy with other things.
I was able to complete another good week in the gym with workouts everyday. I am now back up to 20 days of gym exercise in a row and have been to the gym 50 of the 55 days of the current year so far.
The last two days we have had summer like weather. 85 degrees for highs which I enjoy but as much as 81% humidity which I can really feel during exercise and other activities. Now a front, rain and cooler temps are forecast for the weekend.
We continue to send best wishes out to Tim, Sandy, Claire, Blueberry, Neva and Munchee and others who may be struggling with various issues right now. We also hope that Dee's Dr Appt went well.
Finally just want to say hi and best wishes to Ronnei and to Peg who seem to be doing well right now. As Darrell mentioned earlier we are also thinking about Richard from whom we havn't heard in a while and are hoping to get caught up soon on how he is doing.
Wishing everyone a great weekend and good breathing!

Your memory is much better then mine Ken, I always seem to forget someone. We are quite an extended Family.

We've also had some Spring like weather the last few days but like Ken, rain and lite snow has moved in but the ground
is too warm for anything to stick. It's very damp and dark out there right now.

I've felt much better yesterday and had to get out for a little while. After Dew got home and we had our afternoon Tea,
we went for a ride through the Park then stopped uptown so I could get a much needed hair cut. We still had some time
to kill before my Eye Dr's Appointment so we went to the Grocery Store to find some Fish for Supper tonight(pan seared Salmon with
peppers, onions and asparagus tops). We walked the whole store and I was surprised how well I did once my Lungs opened.
Good News at the Eye Dr, No Changes in my Eye Site so I didn't have to buy new glasses.

I came across some Teacup Rose Bushes on Sale from Valentine's Day and with Spring just around the corner, I just had to have them.

My Daughter is coming by to pick me up at noon. It's our payday lunch date. It's her payday but Daddy always gets to pay? It's kind
of funny how that happens.... :P With all this new Diabetes stuff going on, trying to find something to eat will be a challenge to say
the least.

I'm so glad to be back here at the Gym. I'm getting stronger everyday and the SOB is getting more manageable. If i can mange to
taper off the Pred without a relapse I'll be one happy Guy.

Take Care,

Tim

Great news from Tim, breathing better and living well. Also good to hear that Ken is on a roll again with his workout program. I made 4 days of exercise this week so far but today I'm working on taxes and am spending time on the phone and computer trying to get all the info right. We have had some nice weather this week and I walked outdoors Wednesday but soon realized I had reached my limit on the allergies. Yesterday was back to the gym and I'm glad I did that because my wife worked in the yard and was paying the price of allergies all day long. Today we have nice temps but rain which will wash away some of the pollen and then it's back to real February weather for awhile.

No big plans for the weekend. Tonight we'll have an elementary school program and I suspect we'll end up having one or more boys returning with us for a sleepover. I hope your weekend is more interesting.

Hi All:

Tim, great to have you back in the gym and good to hear that you are up and about......loved those teacup rose bushes.....makes me think of Spring and outdoors....thanks for sharing that.

Hi also to Darrell, Ken, Peg, Blueberry, Dee and Munchee. Hope I did not forget anyone.

Woke up this am to about 6 inches of WET, WET SNOW!!!! Forecasters thought we would get 2-4 " but they were a bit off this time....would like to complain but we are soooo behind our usual snow totals this winter that are trees and bushes probably need the moisture. Wrapped my boot in a heavy guage plastic bag and got in an hour and a half of good ole shoveling (2 sessions with a good rest in between). I am counting that as upper arm exercises for the month! The boot comes off on Sunday and then it is a week of regular shoes before I return to the Doc to see how it goes.....I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Both of my girls stopped over around noon and brought lunch - pizza - a real treat. Now they both have classes this afternoon and have left so I am heading upstairs to do some sewing.....am working on a quilt for the grandbaby coming in June....did I say that it was a boy?

I have also started to do something called goblet squats (supposed to work the thigh muscles) as my walking has been very much curtailed this month due to the foot and have tried to increase the stair climbing to 20 times daily. Now I really need to add something weight wise for the upper body.....and I don't think lifting a fork to my mouth counts!

Have a wonderful weekend, all, and take good care of yourselves.

Hi Claire...I have to mention that lifting a fork or spoon to the mouth seems to be working for me ... scales say I am back up to almost 100 lbs! YaHoo!
The exercise is not going so well, though...so very SOB when trying to do anything....runny nose, too...but not a cold or infection (according to my Dr)...so she is putting me on a 5 mg dose of pred daily to see if that helps to keep me more open. I hope I don't get the reactions or side effects Tim and Darrell seem to get. Everything is just in such slooooow motion these days!!

I am pleased to hear that in spite of the boot you are working so hard to maintain your strength.

Our new great grandbaby is such a joy. She is 1 month old now. Absolutely beautiful, too. Wish I could see her more often.

I may not be posting much (don't have much to say)...but I am still very much in the game here, folks! Don't write me off yet.

Peg

Peg,
No chance of us writing you off.......Glad you have gained some weight, if we can determine how to do it I would be happy to transfer 10 lbs of excess I have to the cause.
I know well how tough exercise can be but do all you can and keep trying.

I hope the pred helps without too many side effects.
