It has been 25 days since my last cigarette.
My urge to smoke is lessening but I still get hit
with very strong cravings from time to time.
People tell me that I will have these cravings
for the rest of my life except they will be fewer
and farther between. I hope so...
I am also using the support program provided by
the Chantix folks. It's a good program and runs pritty
much in sync with other plans that I have tried.
Dew is also still smoke free and this is her 27th day.
We are still living together and to be honest, quitting
smoking together has drawn us closer then we have ever
been. Without her support and dedication, I don't think I
would be able to do this.
My Health is improving. My cough is almost gone. I have
COPD so there will always be some kind of clearing cough
going on but the congestion is a lot better and when it is there,
it's alot easier to clear. I'm starting to sleep better at night and
that helps alot. I'm not as fatigued during the day. I can smell
and taste things again (the good and the bad). The dark circles
under my eyes are gone. My recovery time while exercising is
improving. I am still using 4 Lpm of o2 while exercising but my
saturation levels are running higher everyday.
My children tell me that I look much better...
Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things I have ever tried to do
and I have failed at it many, many times but at least for today (#25),
I'm not going to smoke.
